Healthy Brownies

This is a lower fat, lower sugar brownie recipe. I used cocoa powder instead of chocolate, but you can add a bit of chocolate chips without jeopardizing the calories count!

Ingredients

  • 100g butter
  • ¾ cup sugar or ½ cup if using chocolate
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs + 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour with ¼ teaspoon salt

Optional:

  • ¼ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup walnuts toasted with one tablespoon of flour.

Directions

  • Melt the butter and mix with sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  • Add in the chocolate if using.
  • Mix the cocoa powder
with the flour and add to the egg mixture.
  • Add in the walnuts.
  • Pour in a greased pan and bake for 30 minutes (or less if you like it chewy) at 180 degrees Celsius.
